The one thing you do not want to give back to the community these days is COVID. But during these troubling times, KNEALT has been supporting the community as much as possible. Staying open for bus and truck drivers' essential needs to keep the road safe, open, and provide the things everyone needs at their homes day in and day out. KNEALT is committed to keeping our employees safe, healthy along with our community this holiday season.

The need and want to help is a human behavior that fulfills us not only during the Christmas season. A community is built with the idea that everyone wants the best for those around them.

Why does this work? What Is Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs?

Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a motivational theory in psychology, comprising a five-tier model of human needs, often depicted as hierarchical levels within a pyramid.  Needs lower down in the hierarchy must be satisfied before individuals can attend to needs higher up.

The most straightforward application of the theory says that doing an act of good like picking up trash on a hiking trail is more satisfying to us when either someone sees us do it or tells people about it. The motivation to do morally and socially accepted acts increases when there is a direct link to others.

Using the Connection for Good?

Social media and the internet creates and fulfills the top three tiers of the hierarchy. Self-actualization, esteem, and a sense of belonging are made through this connection to stories, people, and visible causes through this 24/7 media.

In the past, charitable giving meant donating goods and time to your favorite local cause. It was writing a check and mailing it to your favorite organization. It was putting your change in the Salvation Army bucket over the holidays, but the world is much greater than your neighborhood, community, or town. Thanks to the internet, technology, and social media, your cause could be a world away from your home.

There was nothing wrong with either method, and we know that people need options to donate the way they feel comfortable in our community, especially during this trying year.

KNEALT gives back in with all of those needs in mind. From the Stuff a Truck Event in Prince George's Country to online giving to your favorite charity or worship, we are always looking to give back to the community that supports us every year.  We are not worried if people can see what we are doing except to help the causes the best way they can. If it is time, goods, or money, all the reasons we support are near and dear to our hearts, and all help is appreciated.

Not sure where to give our top recommendation: Supporting SHABACH! Ministries Inc. That investment, multiplied by your generosity, has the power to bring about real changes in community conditions.

"Not only are we one of only two minority-owned commercial, full-service truck and bus dealerships in the United States, but we are unique in our identity as company and the motto we follow of being First to Serve. We take the approach that servitude doesn’t start at the bottom; it starts at the top.”  - Korey Neal Sr.
