Why Do You Work at K. Neal Bus and Truck?

I worked for an international dealer in Baltimore until October of 2004. I left the industry because I was overwhelmed by the way the industry treated women. I got my real estate license for a brief time, but soon my family had moved to the Westminster area, and a mutual friend introduced me to K. Neal.  The friend I met when I was working at beltway international took a job with Stephen when he bought this dealership. And he was the VP of sales. And he was reaching out to ask if I would consider coming back to the industry? And I said, No. Mr. Neal called me, and we had a couple of phone calls, and I came down to see the dealership. When he hired me, I was five months pregnant with my first son. So he hired me five months pregnant and as a service manager here in Hyattsville.

Sixteen years later;

What about the industry that makes you come to work every day?

It's the people in the industry; I believe we are unique. We're self-learners and self-taught. And I think it's an excellent opportunity for people that don't necessarily fit in. I have a passion for the industry, and the industry allows me to help others too. Stephen supports us to give back. K. Neal partners with Prince George's Workforce Services. We partner with DC Correctional Facility; we have two people from Workforce Services working with us for the summertime; they're entirely green. I think the one guy never even changed the oil and his car. And now out there, prepping our new buses for delivery to the customers.  I am humbled to fulfill service to the community and clients in the industry I love.
